Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year! Please join us for an in-person meeting of the South Pasadena Parents of Children with Special Needs Support Group.
Our group seeks to provide an informal setting where parents can:
- Meet other families of children with special needs
- Discuss the difficulties and rewards of raising a child with special needs
- Share experience and practical advice
- Learn about local resources, such as doctors, specialists, tutors, and programs
Raising a child with special needs can often be isolating. We hope to form a community where everyone feels welcome, unencumbered, and emotionally supported. The personal problems and concerns of support group members will remain private and confidential. Parents from other cities or school districts are welcome.
Support Group meetings will be held in-person on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at various homes. Meeting dates for this school year are: 9/12/2024, 10/10/2024, 11/14/2024, 12/12/2024, 1/9/2025, 2/13/2025, 3/13/2025, 4/10/2025, and 5/8/2025.
The meetings will be co-hosted by support group members.
Childcare will be provided by South Pasadena High School student volunteers.
